Detailed review

In the last year or so we’ve seen a real explosion in the amount of sportsbooks that are available to use online. One of those sites is HighBet, that offers both a casino and sports page for you. Does their sports arm give you everything you’re looking for in a betting site? Let’s investigate and see what they have for you.

Pros:

  • 27 different sports available to bet on
  • Clear and easy to use site
  • Lots of payment methods accepted
  • Very helpful customer service

Cons:

  • Rather dated site look

Sports On Offer

First thing’s first, let’s take a look at what sports are available to you as a member. Can you find the sports that you want to bet on here, and do they have a good range? As they’re so new, it will be interesting to see what they can offer you.

Right now there is a very decent range of sports that you can bet on. There are currently 27 different sports that you can bet on, covering most of the bases. That’s good news for punters that like to have a good range available to them.

As you would imagine, you can find plenty of markets in football here. At time of writing, there’s 1,731 markets, more than enough for most punters. That gives you the chance to make the most out of each and every bet. There’s hundreds of markets in other popular sports too, like basketball, tennis, golf, baseball, and more. You’re very likely to find your favourite sport here.

There are some smaller sports here that are well represented too. For example, you can find markets in darts, floorball, handball, and water polo to name a few. A special mention goes to eSports, where there are markets in matches of CS:GO and other games.

You can find specials too, so it’s always worth checking back to see what’s in here. Right now, it’s offering markets in entertainment, politics and sports.

The only issue we can see with the offerings here is that horse racing and greyhounds are both missing. That’s a big omission to make, as they’re sports that the UK loves. It would be good to see them added in in the future.

Other than that though, you can’t go far wrong with the amount of sports offered here. There’s very likely going to be something that suits your needs, so make sure you take a look.

Betting Odds And Features

Betting odds are a big thing to consider when choosing a new betting site. As there’s so many betting sites out there now, you’re looking to get the best deals out of every bet when you visit. Can HighBet give you the best odds possible on games?

You’ll soon see that the site really can stack up against some of the biggest names out there. When placing bets, it always pays to shop around first. You’ll see that you can get some very comparable prices here to sites like Ladbrokes and Boyle Sports. The best prices, as you would imagine, are in football.

What about other betting features? There’s not a lot to see here, most likely because the site is still so new. You can check out the site’s blog, which helps you see what games are coming up, and pick up some tips on where to place your bets. Once you’re a member, you’ll be able to select favourite sports and leagues, so you’ll be able to pick them out quicker when you want to place bets. Hopefully, more features will be put into place soon.

In Play Betting

As all good betting sites do, HighBet offers you in play betting on a variety of different sports. That allows you to really enjoy the thrill of a game, and place bets on events as and when they happen. Odds are updated in real time, making it even more exciting.

If you want to follow the game, you can do so by using the match tracker on the site. They don’t have live streaming, but that makes sense as so few betting sites do right now. The match tracker will keep you up to date though, so you won’t miss a thing.

Site Design

As a punter, you feel as though you’ve seen it all when it comes to site design. After all, how much can you do with a sports betting site? There are some innovative sites out there though, so can HighBet reach their standards?

In terms of looks, there’s something about the HighBet site that’s very reminiscent of web design in the mid 2000’s. The bright blue and yellow colouring and very basic layout makes it look way older than it is. Now, you’re not choosing your betting site based on how the site looks, but it is strange that the look of this one is so dated.

However, that does work in its favour when it comes to layout. Many betting sites feel hugely overwhelming, as there’s so much on show at once. This site follows the basic layout, giving you sports on the left, in play in the middle, and the betting slip on the right. All info is kept to a minimum, and there’s no excessive graphics here. If you’re looking for a site that keeps it simple, then you’re in the right place.

That design translates well to mobile too, as it’s easily accessible through your mobile browser. You can place all your bets on the go and never miss a thing. They don’t have a mobile app available at the moment, but that’s something that they can bring in later down the line.

Overall, the site looks a little dated but it gives you exactly what you need. Whether you like to bet on desktop or mobile, you’re in good hands here.

Welcome Offer

All new members of betting sites are looking for a welcome offer. It’s something you’ll get on the vast majority of betting sites out there, so you want to make sure that you’re getting a good reward for signing with HighBet. Do they have something for you as a new member?

When you sign up, you’ll see that there is a welcome offer ready and waiting for you. When you sign up and deposit £10, you’ll get a £15 free bet. To get it, deposit that £10 and bet it at odds of 2.00 or greater. Once you’ve done that, that free bet will be ready and waiting in your account.

There are a few terms and conditions that you need to be aware of when you sign up. Firstly, you can’t claim the offer when you use an eWallet to deposit, so keep that in mind. You’ll also need to use that free bet within 14 days, or it will expire. This is the standard for many betting sites out there though, so this shouldn’t be a problem.

We like this offer as it’s very simple and to the point, something that you would expect from a new betting site. Some may feel that the bonus amount isn’t enough, and it is true that it’s lower than a lot of other betting sites out there. However, you don’t have to put a lot of cash in to get the offer, so you can’t lose here.

Promotions And Offers

As well as that welcome offer, you’ll want to find other deals that keep rewarding you for being a member on the site. All good betting sites will give you something like that, so what can you expect at HighBet?

There’s a promos page that you can check out at any time, and you’ll see that right now there isn’t an awful lot happening. There’s two welcome offers, one for sports and one for the casino, and there’s also a seasonal casino tournament game happening right now. Other than that though, there’s not much else for you.

That is slightly disappointing, as you would expect to see other deals on offer for both sides of the site. It would be nice to see sports specific deals, such as acca boosts. It would also be great to have loyalty schemes available here, as that’s where members can really get rewarded for staying with the site. However, there just isn’t much to see here.

Hopefully, more will be added in the future. Right now though, the site’s strength isn’t in the promos.

Banking Options

If you think that HighBet could be the betting site for you, then you’ll need to take a look at the banking and see how it works. What can you expect from them here?

Firstly, let’s look at the payment options that the site accepts. Of course, they take debit cards, such as Visa and MasterCard. You can also use a wide variety of eWallets, such as PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Trustly, Sofort, MuchBetter, ecoPayz, PaySafeCard, and more.

The range of payment options are excellent. They’re all going to be familiar to you if you’re a regular sports better, and there’s going to be at least one that suits you. Having PayPal here is great, as it’s a service that only teams up with betting sites that are trustworthy.
