Fitzdares, one of the most premium and exclusive betting sites in the UK, is now the proud operator of a public house at the prestigious Royal Windsor racecourse in Windsor, Berkshire. The bookmaker, which is known to run exclusive VIP betting clubs in the UK and which continues to keep alive betting traditions such as betting over the telephone, is planning to combine the two core activities that interest racegoers – having a drink and placing a bet. This novel and creative approach to on-track sports betting is in line with Fitzdares trademark style of combining tradition with innovation in the gambling industry and pushing the boundaries of sports betting and casino services.

Most aptly named The Fitzdares Arms, the pub has already opened as of earlier this week and is welcoming punters who are intent on attending some of the important races that are taking place at the Royal Windsor racecourse this season. Being one of the most iconic English racecourses, the Royal Windsor dates back to 1866, however the history and tradition of horse racing in the region is much older, with historians and experts tracing it back all the way to the times of Henry VIII. The racecourse is located in a unique position on a large island between the river Thames and the Clewer Mill Stream backwater. The racecourse is for thoroughbred horse racing only, and events taking place at it are highly anticipated and followed with considerable interest by fans of horse-racing (and sports betting) from all over the world. Partnered with Sky Sports Racing for televised events, the racecourse is home to the prestigious Group 3 Flat race Winter Hill Stakes which had a purse of £60,000 in 2022 and which is sponsored by UK car dealership Sytner Group.

Discussing the opening of the Fitzdares Arms, CEO of Fitzdares William Woodhams said:

“We do so love Windsor and have really made it our home over the last three years. Therefore it only made sense for us to give the pub the old Fitzdares makeover. We cannot wait to welcome our members and the Windsor faithful. I look forward to seeing you all there.”

While the reputation of Fitzdares for doing things their own way often precedes them in betting and gaming circles, the bookmaker certainly knows how to run a successful business. Both their traditional in-person or over the phone betting and their online betting sites and casino services are ranked most favourably for excellent and highly personalised customer service. The bookmaker is based in West London and has a very popular betting location in the affluent Mayfair area, however is also known for its branches at Cotswolds and Ascot.

Fitzdares has certainly had a good year so far with a number of successes and positive developments for the business. In addition to its very personal on-site betting services, the betting provider has decided to expand its operations internationally by launching access to its betting site to customers based in Ontario, Canada where online sports betting was only just legalised. In addition to its betting and online casino sites in the UK and Canada, Fitzdares also acts as a private betting club with different levels of access depending on the bettor’s needs. They have four different levels of membership – member, member plus, club, and the private office, with the last option being available to new members by invite or referral only. According to the bookmaker, its membership scheme which costs £600 a year currently has over 2,000 active members.

For those not interested in taking advantage of the bookmaker’s membership options and not visiting the Royal Windsor Racecourse any time soon, the bookmaker’s online betting site is a perfect place to start. Fitzdares offers betting markets across all major sports such as horse racing, football, tennis, cricket, rugby, darts, and American football. A large variety of casino and live casino games are also available online, as well as sports betting on virtual sports across the horse racing, football, and motor racing categories.

The opening of the Fitzdares Arms is likely to be followed by other notable events for Fitzdares in 2023. The bookmaker is believed to be looking for more spacious headquarters, having outgrown its Mayfair home. Fitzdares has been growing steadily and is now an important part of the UK betting and gaming industry, having become a member of the Betting and Gaming Council in 2022 and also securing a sponsorship deal with London-based Premier League football club Fulham FC.
