Popular UK betting site QuinnBet has just announced a new 2-year advertising deal with Peterborough United FC. In what is expected to be a very beneficial deal for both parties, the club will maintain a close relationship with QuinnBet while attempting to reach the play-offs in its league, with advertising materials and information displayed at Weston Homes Stadium. The deal comes at a time when the relationship between football and betting sites is being closely examined and the subject to much scrutiny by a number of parties interested in the way the betting and gaming industry in the UK works.

According to the new deal, QuinnBet will be the official advertising partner for The Posh. This is keeping in style with other leading UK betting sites, and especially the ones sponsoring football clubs in the English Premier League. Examples include the sponsorship relationships between AFC Bournemouth and Dafabet, Brentford and Hollywood Bets, Everton and Stake.com, Fulham FC and W88, Leeds United and SBOtop, Newcastle United and Fun88, Southampton and Sportsbet.io, and West Ham United and betway. Premier league football clubs are the obvious choice for betting sites due to the excellent and very relevant exposure to prospective bettors, and this is what the Government and various gambling harm charities were concerned about. In order to minimise any potential risk of gambling harm to young people, the Government gave an unofficial ultimatum to the Premier League, which caused all clubs to unanimously decide to stop featuring betting sites to the front and centre of their match day jerseys. If they had not done so, they risked the potential of any sponsorship relationships being banned altogether, including sleeve, stadium, and match day programme advertising.

This agreement does not stretch to the lower leagues, however, and so the 2-year deal between QuinnBet and Peterborough United is valid. Further to this, the Premier League agreement does not come into force until 2026/2027 season, which will allow for any current sponsorship deals to run out without any penalties to the clubs. In QuinnBet’s case, the betting site will be advertised around Peterborough United’s stadium and will feature in the match day programme. If both parties are happy with the effects of this partnership, it is not unlikely for it to be extended past the initial two-year period.

Peterborough United are currently in the Sky Bet League One and have the ambition of reaching the play-offs after their final game against Barnsley on 7th May 2023. Peterborough Untied are currently 7th in the table with 74 points, and rival Barnsley are 4th.

Speaking about the new deal, Peterborough United’s Commercial Manager Alex Harris said:

“We are pleased to welcome QuinnBet to the family and are looking forward to developing our partnership with them over the next two years and hopefully beyond.”

The first 4 months of 2023 have been favourable for QuinnBet, with the betting site having entered a number of different partnerships. One of them was a continuation of the very successful deal with sports information service OddsChecker, which is now owned by leading UK betting site Sky Betting & Gaming (part of Flutter Entertainment betting group). In another important deal, QuinnBet secured a new partnership with betting content and technology provider Markor Tehcnology, with view of enhancing its gaming portfolio and improving bettor attraction, engagement, and retention. Most recently, QuinnBet struck a sponsorship deal with the Punchestown Grand National Trial. The betting site will be the main sponsor for the event for the next three years, starting with the most recent one in February 2023.

QuinnBet’s Marketing Manager Niall McPartland commented on the deal with Peterborough United FC:

“When we heard about the opportunity to partner with Peterborough United, we were thrilled. The club is steeped in history, and we are very proud to announce this two-year partnership. We wish all the club every good luck for the remainder of the current season and for what’s to come!”

QuinnBet is a very versatile betting site offering sports betting, virtual sports, casino, and live casino games. The virtual sports portfolio includes a variety of horse racing, greyhound racing, football, motor racing and cycling events. Bettors can take advantage of excellent customer service, easy user-friendly interface, and modern, advanced technology for a seamless betting and gaming experience.

While the new advertising and sponsorship rules may eventually trickle down to the lower leagues, the new deal between Peterborough United and QuinnBet is likely to be a success for both parties. It is likely that the bookmaker will offer exclusive deals and offers for the football club’s games, so existing and new customers may benefit from keeping an eye on findbettingsites.co.uk as we will monitor and publish any relevant deals and promotions.
