Updated:January 13, 2023Online casino provider Mansion Group has announced that it will stop operating in the United Kingdom from 13th January 2023, this follows the closing of their brand Mansionbet which featured highly on our top betting sites list. The group has been active in the UK for over 20 years and runs well-known online gaming sites Casino.com, SlotHeaven.com, and MansionCasino.com.
Mansion Group’s decision to end its operations in the UK has been explained as a refocusing effort – the company wants to focus on other key markets instead. These include its casino offerings in Ontario, Spain, and other jurisdictions where the Group holds gambling licences. Meanwhile, its UK licence will be surrendered on 13/01/2023, which will put an end on all online casino activity and online gaming in the country.
Mansion Group CMO Neil Gallacher commented:
“Mansion’s focus in 2023 and beyond is to continue to double down on the most profitable markets where we currently operate, while always seeking to explore emerging markets. The UK was for many years our core market, and we look forward to sharing 20 years of wonderful customer experiences with all our non-UK clients for many years to come.”
The news about the end of Mansion’s casino operations in the UK follows the reduction in their UK operations in March 2022 when the Group stopped offering online sports betting. According to the announcement at the time, the reason for this was to focus solely on casino offerings. Back then, the company’s CEO Christian Block explained that this had been a careful and difficult commercial decision, and that closing MansionBet would allow the company to focus on its casino brands, which, as Block pointed, had a solid track record of customer service excellence.
At the time, Mansion Group guaranteed that the disruption to existing customers would be minimal, that any future winnings would continue to be paid out, and that the company would return stakes regardless of the outcome. Mansion Group prides itself on providing global online casino services in a boutique-style, personalised, knowledgeable format. The company points out on their website that its customers benefit from exceptional 24/7 customer service. The company is licenced in Gibraltar, where its headquarters has been located since 2004.
While Casino.com and the other websites ran by the group will no longer be operational after tomorrow, UK customers have a lot of options to choose from to replace them with. Some of the excellent UK online casinos recommended by findbettingsites.co.uk include: Boylesports, with an introductory offer of “bet £10 get £10 free bet + £10 free casino”, Unibet – “£40 moneyback bonus + £10 casino”, and MonsterCasino – “bet £10 get £30 free bet”. Naturally, Mansion Group customers will not be happy with the news that their casino of choice has closed down, and while change is always tricky, the online casino providers featuring on our website provide some outstanding features, a variety of games, and excellent introductory offers.
While operating in the United Kingdom, Mansion Group used to be very involved in football sponsorship. The group prided itself on sponsoring football clubs such as Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester City, AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle United. Most recently, the company became the Official Partners of Bristol City and Millwall FC. It is not clear what the future of these partnerships will be that the company no longer operates in the UK, and especially since the end of its sports betting operations back in March. It is expected that the partnerships will potentially end and the presence of the Group in the UK will be officially over.
Some of the games which Mansion Group used to offer on its website Casino.com used to be very popular with its UK customers. These games were in categories such as Live Casino, Daily Jackpots, Slots, Megaways, Jackpots, and Table Games, and some of the top titles were Super Lion, Money Grows on Trees, Fishin’ Frenzy: The Big Catch, and a variety of live slots, roulettes, and other games. Fortunately for UK customers, the vast majority of these games are provided by other UK online casinos and live casinos, so not all is lost. The same goes for the company’s two other websites – SlotsHeaven.com and MansionCasino.com.
All three websites stopped accepting deposits at 17:00 hours on 12/01/2023, and have encouraged players to withdraw their funds by 23:50 hours same date. It is most certain, however, that customers who haven’t had the chance to do so, will have no issues withdrawing their funds at a later time. Meanwhile, international customers will not be affected by the closure of the UK operations in any way.
