Premier League Week 3

The Premier league is back for another round of fixtures, this weekend sees an action packed Sunday, as well as two games on Monday, in this article we will preview some of the upcoming games.

Everton Vs Crystal Palace

On Saturday Everton travel to London to take on Crystal Palace, in what looks to be a tough one to call. Both sides have had fantastic starts to the season and find themselves in 2nd and 5th.

Everton enjoyed an emphatic 5-2 victory over West Brom last time out, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbing a hattrick and summer signing James Rodriguez getting off to a preposterous start.

Crystal Palace had an exceptional performance at Old Trafford last week, winning 3-1, despite the penalty and VAR controversy.

Wilfred Zaha looks to be on track for another implausible season at Crystal Palace, the versatile forward has scored 3 goals in 2 games, and has an average match rating of 8.07.

Crystal Palace have an extensive injury list, with the absences of key players such as Gary Cahill, Patrick Van Aanholt and Scott Dan. Furthermore, Everton have a handful of injuries but none of which are first team regulars.

Sunday sees Leicester City take on Manchester City at the Etihad, for a 16:30 kick off. The Foxes are another team who have had a 100% start, with wins over West Brom and Burnley.

Manchester City got their season underway on Monday, where they brushed aside a very capable Wolves team, winning the game 3-1.

Leicester have had a relatively quiet transfer window, making three signings. Timothy Castagne arrived from Atalanta for a fee of £18m and has adjusted to life in the Premier League very well, the wide midfielder has 1 goal and 1 assist as well as an average match rating of 7.78.

Manchester City made two summer signings, the additions of Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres, both of which featured on Monday. Nathan Ake started the tie and Torres was substituted on with 10 minutes to play.

This fixture looks to be the game of the weekend, with both teams looking to play attacking football, it should be an entertaining one.

Leicester have 3 key players unavailable for selection, Jonny Evans, Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereria. Nonetheless the Citizens have an injury ridden squad, they will be without the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Aymeric Laporte, Bernado Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo and who could forget, Sergio Aguero.

Arsenal are enjoying life under Arteta so far, with two wins, five goals scored and just one conceded, the Gunners finally seem to be developing a winning mentality, something that has been absent for many years from the Arsenal squad.

The last league meeting between the two sides saw Arsenal come from behind and win 2-1. However Liverpool have been unbeaten in the last nine league meetings prior to that.
